Corporate party entertainment: the photo game that finally mixes the teams

Christmas party, after-work drinks, away day, leaving do: a little photo challenge drops at a surprise time on every participant's phone, nothing to install. Tables get up, departments talk, and the next morning the album of the night is in the organisers' inbox.

A reception room under a large chandelier, guests facing a giant screen showing the photos of the night

Finding corporate party entertainment that works for everyone is a small puzzle. The quiz intimidates the new starters, karaoke only amuses the people singing, the photo booth draws three teams out of ten, and for the rest of the night everyone stays at their table with their own department. Clinkpop turns the problem around: instead of one activity in one corner, the whole room plays, at the same time, from their phones.

The idea fits in one sentence. You create the party in five minutes, participants scan a QR code on the tables, and a photo challenge drops at a surprise time, roughly every forty-five minutes: "a photo with someone born the same year as you", "the most unlikely duo of the night", "your table poses for a magazine cover". Everyone answers with their phone, the photos are revealed between participants, and the room screen, if you plug one in, shows them as the night goes on. Nothing to install, no account, no host to pay.

Why a photo game works at a corporate party

Good corporate party entertainment ticks three boxes: it is understood in ten seconds, it is played in groups, and it leaves something behind. Photos do all three, and they have an advantage no board game has: to complete the challenge, you have to go and find someone. "Find someone dressed in the same colour as you" means crossing the room. "A photo with the whole of the next table" means introducing yourself. That is exactly what you want from an office Christmas party, and it is what speeches and buffets never achieve on their own.

The other strength of the format is that it asks for nothing: no fitness, no in-house culture, no particular talent. The person who joined last week plays like the managing director. People who do not like being photographed can play fully by photographing others, the venue, the dessert. And there is no individual winner or loser: challenges are done in groups, and hearts go to a photo, never to a person.

How it works, step by step

  1. You create the party in five minutes : The name of the party, the date, the start and end times. Clinkpop prepares a programme of challenges suited to an evening between colleagues, which you can review, trim or complete with your own challenges ("a photo in front of the logo", "the whole team from the new office").
  2. You print the table cards : One QR code per table, with the party code. Participants scan it with their phone camera, type their first name, and that is it. No app to download, no email address to give, no password.
  3. The challenges drop, the room plays : At a surprise time, the phone buzzes: a challenge, ten minutes to answer. Nobody knows when the next one is coming, not even you. You can also launch them yourself, at the microphone, if you prefer to keep control of the pace.
  4. The room screen reveals the photos : Plug a laptop into the projector: the screen announces each challenge and shows the photos as the night goes on. Everyone watches for their own and comments on the others. It is the entertainment that runs itself while you enjoy the evening.
  5. The next morning, the album : The organisers receive the private album by email, sorted by challenge, with the participants' favourites first. Download it in one click, share it with a private link, kept for twelve months.

Challenges written for colleagues, not for a wedding

A corporate party is not a party between friends. Participants did not choose to be there together, some do not know each other, and a photo can travel well beyond the night. The corporate party challenges were chosen from our catalogue with these rules:

  • Nothing about looks, age, clothes or private life. A challenge that would embarrass one person in a hundred is one challenge too many.
  • No dares, no humiliation, no individual ranking. We laugh with, never at.
  • Nothing built around the bar. One toast, at the start; the rest is about the room, the tables, the encounters and the dessert.
  • Challenges that mix people: with someone from another department, with the next table, with the person who comes from the same region as you.
  • Face-free challenges for those who prefer not to appear: the most beautiful spot in the venue, your favourite decoration detail, a photo taken through something.

Six challenges from the corporate party programme, as they land on the phones:

  • "A photo with someone born the same year as you"
  • "The most unlikely duo of the day"
  • "Your table strikes a pose for a magazine cover"
  • "Find someone dressed in the same colour as you"
  • "A photo with the whole table next to yours"
  • "The most beautiful spot at the venue"

You can remove any challenge from the programme before the party, and write up to five of your own. Many companies add "the most unlikely team photo", "the pair who had never spoken" or "the company's initial formed with your bodies".

Which parties it is for

The office Christmas party. The most common case: 40 to 300 people, a dinner, sometimes a hired venue, and a leadership team that would like departments to mix without having to force it. Challenges drop from drinks to dessert, the room screen does the entertaining, and the next morning's album replaces the photos scattered across ten group chats.

After-work drinks. Shorter, more standing. A tighter rhythm of challenges (every twenty or thirty minutes), prompts you can do with a glass in hand, and a night that does not end in frozen little groups.

The away day and its evening. After a day of workshops, dinner is when bonds form. The photo game belongs there; for the daytime, our article on corporate event photo activities gives ten other ideas, from the photo scavenger hunt to the live photo wall.

The leaving do and the retirement party. A few challenges around the person leaving ("the photo they will keep", "a piece of advice written on a napkin"), and an album the whole department signs in its own way. Our leaving party ideas complete the programme.

Team building and induction days. Team challenges get the new starters talking to the old hands without anyone having to host the introductions.

What it needs, and what it does not

It needs a signal in the room: 4G is almost always enough, the venue's Wi-Fi is a bonus. It needs someone to put the table cards out and, if you want the screen, a laptop connected to the projector. That is all.

It does not need a host, hired equipment, anything installed on phones, or participants' email addresses. Clinkpop knows only their first name and the photos they chose to send. If you are also hiring a photo booth, the two go very well together: the booth does the posed portraits, the game gets the room moving between visits. Our comparison of photo booth prices and alternatives applies to a corporate party too.

Photos of employees are not photos like any other. Here is what Clinkpop does by default, which you can pass on to your legal team or data protection officer:

  • Genuinely free participation. Nobody is signed up by default; each person scans, or does not. A participant can stop whenever they want.
  • Information before the first photo. Before sending anything, every participant sees who their photos will be visible to: the other participants, the room screen, then the organisers' album.
  • "Remove my photo", always, and for good. The file is deleted, not just hidden. Organisers can also remove a photo from the album and the screen.
  • No facial recognition, no reuse. We do not analyse faces and never use the photos for anything other than your album. We are a processor: the photos are yours.
  • Hosted in the European Union, photos and data alike, and deleted twelve months after the party.
  • No individual ranking. We produce no table of who played, how often, or who "won". Nothing can be passed up to a manager.
  • Nothing is public. Links are secret, participants' pages and the album are not indexed.

For sharing the photos after the party (intranet, LinkedIn, careers site), people's consent is still needed: our article on photo consent at an event goes through the cases.

What it costs

Every party held before 1 February 2027 is free: unlimited participants, room screen, album included. It is our launch season, and we would rather have twenty successful parties than a price list. After that, a single payment per event, the same as for all our celebrations: €59 for up to 150 participants, €79 above that and up to 300. No subscription, no photo limit, invoice by email.

Do you organise parties for other companies? Events agencies, DJs, caterers, venues and photo booth companies have a dedicated offer: a pack of ten events to slip into their services.

Frequently asked questions

What corporate party entertainment works without a host?

A game the room plays by itself from their phones: photo challenges drop at surprise times, participants answer in groups, the room screen reveals the photos. There is nobody to pay or brief, and the evening keeps its rhythm.

Do employees need to install an app?

No. They scan the QR code on their table with their phone camera and play straight away in the browser, on iPhone and Android alike. No account, no email, no password: just a first name.

Can participation be compulsory?

Better not, and Clinkpop is built so that it is not: nobody is signed up by default, challenges are played in groups with one phone between several people, and those who do not want to appear can photograph the venue, the table or the dessert.

What happens to the photos after the party?

They stay in the organisers' private album for twelve months, then they are deleted. Every participant can remove their own at any time, for good. Nothing is public, nothing is reused, no facial recognition.

How many participants at most?

Up to 300 participants per party. Beyond that, tell us about your event.

Can we add our own challenges?

Yes, up to five, on top of the ready-made programme: a photo in front of the logo, the whole team from one site, the founder's signature pose. You can also remove the challenges that do not feel like you.

What if the venue has no Wi-Fi?

4G is enough in the vast majority of rooms. Photos queue up and leave as soon as the signal comes back; the party does not stop for it.
